Use a cloud print agent that routes jobs to the nearest available printer. Because the platform is printer- and media-agnostic, you can use the hardware you already own — no need to standardize on one vendor.
Right-size your stations. A common rule of thumb is one print station per 250 expected arrivals per peak hour, with a spare printer staged for switchover if a device fails.
Pre-print what you can, then flip to onsite on-demand printing for walk-ups and last-minute adds. The combination of Service Bureau pre-print and onsite printing covers both the bulk and the long tail.
